Living in the Overflow

“And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
2 Kings 6:15-17 | NKJV

1 – “What appears” and “what is” are often dissimilar.

The adversary isn’t all powerful. His power is magnified through perception. Our ignorance and ignorance are his greatest advantages.

2 – Decisions based solely on what appears are deficient.

“And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.”
2 Corinthians 11:14 | NKJV

“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”
Proverbs 14:12 | NKJV

3 – What appears and what is can be distinguished through prayer.

God opens our eyes of understanding. He gives us the ability to see through the veil of falsehood. He shows us the fake news and alternate facts.

4 – What appears is relative.

Story of a couple leaving the Galleria.

5 – “What is” is truth.
Truth turns realities.
Truth holds when all else folds.
Truth is irresponsive. It acts verses reacting.
Truth can’t be outlived.
Truth can’t be beat.
Truth is never weak.
Truth does not wavier.
Truth is immune to opinions.
Truth is treasured by the wise and avoided by fools.
Truth never changes.
Truth isn’t free.
23 Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.
Proverbs 23:23 | NKJV

Truth makes you free!
32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32 | NKJV

What is truth?

17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
John 17:17 | NKJV
